The growing number of infrastructural development activities is also driving the land survey equipment market in the US. Land survey equipment is also used to ensure the positioning of infrastructure elements and construction as per the planned design. For instance, according to the Contruent Report of June 2023, seven megaprojects in Texas, Nevada, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, California, and New York are under construction, increasing the adoption of land survey equipment in order to measure land accurately. Below mentioned are the details of the projects:

  • Southeast Connector Project (Dallas–Fort Worth Area) – According to the Texas Department of Transportation (DoT), the Southeast Connector project is a 16-mile-long infrastructure project constructed to ease traffic congestion, improve travel safety and efficiency, and promote trade around the Fort Worth area.
  • Madison Square Garden Sphere (Las Vegas, Nevada) – The project incurred an estimated cost of US$ 2.18 billion for the construction of a sphere-shaped stadium with a capacity to hold 20,000 visitors plus 23 VIP suites.
  • Gordie Howe International Bridge (Detroit, Michigan) - It is the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America, connecting Detroit, Michigan, to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The project aims to reduce congestion for commercial trucks at Ambassador Bridge by streamlining international travel between the US and Canada.
  • American Legion Bridge Replacement (Bethesda, Maryland, and Virginia) - The new American Legion Bridge I-270 Traffic Relief Plan incurred an estimated cost of US$ 6 billion with an aim to tackle bottlenecks between Maryland and Virginia. The project includes improvements of 37 miles of highway along I-270 (from I-380 to I-70).
  • Related Santa Clara (Santa Clara, California) – The project is under mixed-use development covering 240 acres with a variety of residential, commercial, and retail properties. The project incurred an estimated cost of US$ 8 billion with an aim to transform a golf course into an innovative and entertaining destination for locals and visitors. The projects upgrade the transportation network by facilitating easy travel for residents, employees, and tourists.
  • Hudson Tunnel Project (New York City, NY) – According to the Texas Department of Transportation (DoT), the project is constructed with the shared goal of repairing and replacing the old railway tunnels.
  • JFK Airport (New York City, NY) – The airport project is undergoing a complete overhaul, including 23 new gates for several terminal projects. The project incurred a total cost of US$ 18 billion and is expected to be completed by 2030.

The land survey equipment helps engineers and architects in mapping during infrastructure development. These market dynamics are projected to facilitate the market substantially. Rising demand for land survey equipment and the increasing need for drones or UAVs in mapping and surveying are facilitating the expansion of US Land Survey Equipment market share. However, high equipment cost might impede the US land survey equipment market growth.
