In November 2018, the federal security officials at American airports announced about testing a new device that lets screeners simultaneously scan multiple passengers from up to 25 feet away. The TSA has given the go-ahead to the latest technology, called 'passive terahertz' screening. Officials hope the new screening method will speed up security checkpoints lines and better accommodate the growing number of travelers passing through the nation's airports, reports the Los Angeles Times.
