Pressurized Water Reactor Market Size and Forecasts (2021 - 2031), Global and Regional Share, Trends, and Growth Opportunity Analysis
A pressurized water reactor (PWR) is a nuclear reactor in which the coolant and moderator are both water. The core warms up, causing hydrogen isotopes to split for energy and oxygen to react with uranium-235 to generate further heat. Steam is generated as a result of this process, which spins turbines connected by shafts to generate energy. The Western Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) is a kind of nuclear reactor that generates steam by cooling the core with water. Uranium-235, plutonium-239, or other elements such as thorium, which may be transformed to uranium 233 following neutron capture, are used as the primary fuel for this type of reactor. These reactors contain protections against pressure spikes induced by fast cooling to prevent overheating in the case of an emergency shutdown (SCRAM).

IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON PRESSURIZED WATER REACTOR MARKET
COVID-19 has had an impact on a variety of industries owing to the shutdown of numerous industrial processes and the disruption of supply chains. Due to a lack of workers, most businesses have ceased operations. However, owing to the influence of COVID-19, the equipment section of the pressurized water reactor industry is gradually declining.
During the worldwide lockout, the electric industry accounted for a large portion of consumption. Electricity usage has increased as a result of huge reductions in services and industry, which have only been partially offset by an increase in residential use, raising demand for pressurized water reactor. Due to COVID-19 difficulties, reactor building dates have also been disrupted. Some new reactor projects in China, which builds the majority of the world's new reactors, have been temporarily delayed. Nuclear reactor building in the United States, France, the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, and the United Kingdom has also been hampered. These delays are due to a decrease in building site workers as well as supply chain issues.
Nuclear power generation in 2021 was severely impacted by a delay in reactor construction combined with a decline in electricity demand, although the degree of the damage is unknown. The COVID-19 epidemic has hampered economic growth in China, which has the world's greatest new reactor building programme (owing to advancements on both sides).

The company level information helps us in deriving the base number as well as in forecasting the market size.
- 3.4 Developing Base Number:
Aggregation of sales statistics (2020-2022) and macro-economic factor, and other secondary and primary research insights are utilized to arrive at base number and related market shares for 2022. The data gaps are identified in this step and relevant market data is analyzed, collected from paid primary interviews or databases. On finalizing the base year market size, forecasts are developed on the basis of macro-economic, industry and market growth factors and company level analysis.
- Data Triangulation and Final Review:
The market findings and base year market size calculations are validated from supply as well as demand side. Demand side validations are based on macro-economic factor analysis and benchmarks for respective regions and countries. In case of supply side validations, revenues of major companies are estimated (in case not available) based on industry benchmark, approximate number of employees, product portfolio, and primary interviews revenues are gathered. Further revenue from target product/service segment is assessed to avoid overshooting of market statistics. In case of heavy deviations between supply and demand side values, all thes steps are repeated to achieve synchronization.
We follow an iterative model, wherein we share our research findings with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) until consensus view of the market is not formulated – this model negates any drastic deviation in the opinions of experts. Only validated and universally acceptable research findings are quoted in our reports.
We have important check points that we use to validate our research findings – which we call – data triangulation, where we validate the information, we generate from secondary sources with primary interviews and then we re-validate with our internal data bases and Subject matter experts. This comprehensive model enables us to deliver high quality, reliable data in shortest possible time.
