  • Recent Developments in Parcel Sortation System Market:

Inorganic and organic strategies such as acquisitions and mergers are being highly adopted by the companies operating in the parcel sortation system market. A few recent key parcel sortation system market developments are listed below:

    • In March 2023, Siemens Logistics secured a contract to deploy its baggage handling and sorting technology at the new Terminal 2 (T2) in China’s Hefei Xinqiao Airport. Under the contract, Siemens Logistics will deliver its VarioTray Individual Carrier System to ensure seamless baggage handling.
    • In November 2022, Beumer Group, an automated material handling system supplier, announced its plan to automate Helthjem’s new parcel terminal, the Norwegian express parcel delivery business. The Beumer system will mainly handle a majority of parcels when they are emptied into the system until they are sorted for further optimized distribution. The system will minimize annual handling, reducing the number of touchpoints for every parcel, which greatly affects the speed and accuracy of throughput.
    • In 2021, BEUMER Group, a global supplier of automated material handling systems, supplied a third sortation system to the Hermes Midlands Super Hub in Rugby, capable of sorting up over a million parcels every day.
    • In 2019, BEUMER Group signed a US$ 33 million agreement with Aruba Airport Authority N.V. Through the agreement, the company will offer the design and installation of a high-speed baggage transportation and sortation system at Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport.
